Red Medicine presents a gig that should have happened in January but thanks to the snow and stranded drummers, has been rescheduled.

The night before Record Store Day, Le Pub in Newport hosts 4 bands that will have you standing to attention in more ways than one.

All these bands are great, I’m yet to see Fjords live but have had the pleasure of watching Local Sports Team, The Milk Race and Rough Music before. It must’ve been a right ballache deciding on the running order! Get there early!!

The Milk Race are made up of people who were in other bands you may’ve seen and heard. They include Martini Henry Rifles, Mo-Ho-Bish-O-Pi, Space In The 50s and many, many more. They’re awesome. They’re playing in Le Pub on Friday 19th April with other awesome bands. To whet your appetite, here’s their new video.

Record Store Day 2013!

As usual, Record Store Day (Saturday 20th April) will be a mix of exclusive, mostly vinyl releases and some great acoustic live music in the shop. This year we have acoustic sets from Newport bands The Lash (midday) and The Vestals (1pm) and a return for ever more famous Diverse favourites, Paper Aeroplanes (2pm). They’ll be playing in Le Pub in the evening as support to crazy punk country Americans, Larry & His Flask. Those guys will be busking at the bottom of Charles Street for us from 3pm!!

Country Mile Records are bringing us special (no, not like that) cakes too and they’ll be the usual assortment of snacks and refreshments all day. Basically, it’ll be the best day you ever have in a record shop.

We’ll be open at 9am (an hour earlier than our usual Saturday opening time) and closing at 4pm. Hope to see you all on on the day.
